Show Publicity Is Here: A New Home for Hosts, Creators and Publicists
Making a good show has never been easier. Getting anyone to notice it has rarely been harder. Hosts spend their evenings recording, editing and publishing, then watch the episode disappear into a feed where ten thousand other episodes landed the same day. Publicists know how to fix that, but most shows cannot afford one. Show Publicity exists to close that gap. It is a community where hosts, creators and publicists promote each other, swap guests, share press contacts and grow their audiences together.
Why a community and not another directory
Directories list shows. Nobody reads them. Growth for a show comes from three places: other shows with the same audience, press and newsletters that cover the field, and listeners who keep mentioning you. All three are people, and people need somewhere to meet. That is what this place is for.
What you can do here today
- Share every release in the activity feed, with the story behind the episode rather than just a link.
- Join groups built around your niche or format, and use them to organise guest swaps and cross-promotion.
- Ask and answer in the forum: which outlets replied, what pitch worked, which platforms are worth the effort right now.
- Message other hosts directly to line up a swap or ask for an introduction.
- Climb the leaderboard by being useful. Points, ranks and badges reward the people who show up for others.
- Hand the heavy lifting to our team through the publicity services if you would rather have a campaign run for you.
Who it is for
Podcast hosts, obviously, but not only. Live show producers, web series creators, radio presenters, newsletter writers with an audio edition, and the publicists and producers who work with all of them. If you make something people watch or listen to on a schedule, you are a show, and you belong here.
The one rule
Promote other people's shows at least as often as your own. Every feature of this community is built around that habit, and it is the reason it works. A host who only ever posts their own links will be ignored here just as they are everywhere else. A host who shares a great episode by someone else every week will find their own shows shared back within a month.
What happens next
We will keep writing practical playbooks here on the blog: pitching the press, running a launch, building a media kit, structuring guest swaps. The forum is where we will talk about what to build next, so tell us what would help. Then go and introduce yourself in the feed. Say what your show is, who it is for, and who you would love to swap with. Someone is already looking for exactly that.
